Fat Injections or Fat Transfer
Facial creases such as laugh lines, smile lines and undereye hollows result when the
underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down.
To correct these effects, fat can be removed from the abdomen, thighs or other areas and
transferred by injection to areas of the face. These sunken areas can also be treated
effectively with Facial Fillers such as collagen, Juvederm, Restylane, or Radiesse. Each of these treatments, including Fat Injections, have different characteristics, and different lengths of duration. Dr. Aharonov will discuss all of your options with you during your consultation in his Beverly Hills office.
Dr. Aharonov uses Fat Transfer for a number of different facial enhancements. He can fill
in sunken and creased areas of the face or eyes and add fullness to areas that have lost
volume with age. This can eliminate eye bags or eye dark circles. Fat grafting or fat
transfer can be used to restore volume to the cheeks, under eye areas, or even the angle
of the jaw. Fat transfer can also minimize lines between the nose and mouth, correct skin
depressions or indentations and minimize forehead wrinkles. Some patients may require
one or two additional treatments done in the office to optimize the results, but over 80%
of patients are very happy after only the first session of the fat grafting. The results are
long lasting sometimes getting better and better with time for years to come.
A gaunt, sunken face is a sign of facial aging, and a fuller, rounded face is associated with
youthfulness. Fat transfer is a great way to restore a refreshed appearance in a quick and
painless way lifting the face, under local anesthesia and with minimal downtime. Fat
transfer can be done as an outpatient procedure in our Beverly Hills office, in about an
hour.
Fat transfer can also be done in conjunction with a Facelift, or any other facial cosmetic procedure. This will give both a lifted and fuller facial look, and not a pulled or stretched
look that often indicates an "overdone" plastic surgery appearance. Fat transfer or Fat
Grafting can also be done without any additional cosmetic surgery for those patients not
quite ready for a Facelift, but who are interested in facial rejuvenation.
